Grief and grievance.

Both words come from the same root: grave. I have found this fact interesting and insightful. If we dont grieve properly there is a danger we may get caught in grievance. The best example of this of course is around funerals, will disputes etc. But it also applies to marriage breakup, serious illness, and actually any big change that has happened or is anticipated.
It isnt about indulging the grief of course, just about gently allowing and accepting it, so that it doesnt turn to poison.
